- You will receive monthly issues of our newsletter, Lowcountry Diggings, either by mail or email. Our newsletter shares tons of exclusive information including monthly field trip opportunities to gem mines throughout the Southeast, local classes and workshops, upcoming gem shows, insider tips and tricks and more!
- Voting privileges for all adult members
- Chance for annual scholarships to attend workshops at either Wildacres or William Holland Retreat - School of Lapidary Arts
- Members are able to attend any Dixie Mineral Council Field Trips. These field trips are “hosted” by a club local to the area giving you access to local knowledge.
- Your dues also help keep our club running! The Lowcountry Gem & Mineral Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and we appreciate your support!

come to one of our meetings
Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at the Redux Contemporary Art Center in downtown Charleston. The address is 1056 King Street. Parking is available in the lot out front or on the street. Please enter through the front door. If you don't see us set up in the front gallery please walk all the way down the hall to the back. You can arrive anytime between 6:30-7. Visitors & guests are always welcome!

The fellowship begins at 6:30 P.M. where you can chat with fellow members. Feel free to bring any gem/mineral/fossil/jewelry related items with you, the group is a great resource for identifying different specimens and always appreciates a unique piece for show & tell!

Club Meeting Dates in 2024: Second Thursday of Every Month
- January 11 (First Meeting of the Year) : At our January meeting, club member Lila will be giving a presentation about her November visit to the Columbia Gem and Mineral Society’s 55th annual Gem, Mineral, and Jewelry show.
- February 8 Olivia will present "Love and Devotion in Jewelry", which will cover the history of sentimental jewelry throughout history.
- March 14 Kristin will be doing a silversmithing demonstration on how to make sterling silver hollow beads
- April 11 : Annual Silent Auction! There will be gems, fossils, mineral specimens, and we also ask that vou please bring in an items that vou'd like to contribute. The don't have to be specifically gem related but just anthing vou think we'd like. Books, plants, art, and other items are all welcome. Open to the public and please join us help raise monev for a new projector and screen for our club.*Cash, check, or pavment by Venmo will be accepted
- May 9: Donna will be giving a talk on "What's in a name?" where she will go over different names used in the gem & mineral market for different materials and when does it matter. She will have example items on hand to show to display the concepts for discussion.
